Forest Park Golf Course is located in Woodhaven, Queens. It is just off the Jackie Robinson Parkway. Originally designed by Tom Bendelo in 1896, it was redesigned by Stephen Kay in 1995. In addition to approximately two million dollars of course renovations, a completely new clubhouse was also built. The renovation included a significant lengthening of the course; it now plays at over 6,000 yards. This course, with its tree-lined fairways, elevated greens, and three water holes is a favorite of many NYC golfers.
A 9-hole golf course opened in 1901. Its club house, which was designed in the Dutch Colonial Revival style by the firm of Helmle, Huberty & Hudswell (who also designed the Williamsburgh Savings Bank tower), and which now houses the park's Administration Office, first opened in 1905.
